How to Help a Friend in an Unhealthy or Abusive Relationship @ SA

While every relationship is likely to have its ups and downs, it is important to keep in mind the warning signs or “red flags” of an unhealthy or abusive relationship in case a rough patch in a relationship has become more intense. Elena Brooks-Perkins from Safe Harbor will teach attendees how to spot red flags in their own or someone else’s relationships. We will discuss how to recognize the signs of abuse and how to support a friend in any stage of their journey. We will also explore how to be an active bystander and how to safely plan with friends leaving an unhealthy or abusive relationship.

Colorful Creations: Saturn's Rings @ VA

Two years ago, Cassini ended its 13-year mission by plunging through Saturn's atmosphere. The spacecraft had taken nearly 500,000 pictures, many of which were Saturn's rings. You can create a miniature Saturn with upcycled materials, and have an opportunity to use a green screen and iPad to take pictures of it in its proper setting: space, the final frontier.
